Jonny Hurts (b. 1985, Oslo / Buenos Aires) is a Norwegian-Argentinian artist and operator working across painting, sculpture, neon, lenticular, fiberglass relief, bronze, and architecture. His practice synthesizes pop-cultural iconography — Mickey, Bugs Bunny, Pluto, Pikachu, Bart Simpson, Pink Panther — through cubist violence, marble grotesquerie, and saturated primary chaos, then signs the result with a dripping red HURTS. graffiti tag that functions as both signature and thesis. His first solo, Once Upon a Time (Fineart Oslo, 2022), was attended by more than 20 000 visitors, making it among the most visited exhibitions in the gallery's history. Prior projects include Perspect (2017, with Chi Modu — 2Pac, Biggie, Snoop, Nas), Huglife (2018, oversized inflatable teddy-bear installations in Oslo), Internet Sucks (2019), and Happy Nuclear (2021). Notable collaborations include Hellstar, Hauger Motorsport, Happy Socks, Chupa Chups, and Aker BP / Yggdrasil. In 2023 Hurts relocated his practice from Oslo's abandoned Califorebu airport studio to Andratx, Mallorca, where he is building Casa Hurts — the residential stage for the H2F (From House to Feelings) platform. He simultaneously operates DOGYARD (Oslo), a 1 000 m² art-driven event venue. Works are held in private collections including Post Malone, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Lil Yachty, Yelawolf, and David Dobrik.
